Lynchburg Landscapes

This series of paintings represent a portrait of my Lynchburg as I know it. As a longtime resident and one who grew up here, these works represent the sights and locations that say “this is my hometown”. When painting scenes or environments, I try to capture a particular light quality and feeling of atmosphere in a loose, painterly, and impressionistic way. I look for unique points of view and particular shapes made by the play of light and shadow, to paint a world that can look both real and abstract.
