Painting in Tongues

This body of work represents a desire to work loosely and spontaneously with the rhythmic making of marks and an emphasis on paint quality, color and design.

The work is intended to imply writing and language that is unknown or un-readable, and make a correlation of action between the written and painted mark.

It is like hearing a song or watching a movie in a language one doesn’t understand. You still feel the mood, and respond to the tone, the beat and the rhythm, without having to know the specific meaning of the words.
